Pushpa 2 Set for Christmas 2024 Release, Faces Off Against Aamir Khan’s Sitare Zameen Par
New details have emerged regarding the highly anticipated release of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The next official announcement is expected on June 25, 2024, and it seems the makers of Pushpa are looking to repeat their own history. Initially slated for an August 15, 2024, release, Pushpa 2 is now eyeing a Christmas 2024 slot, potentially releasing between December 20-27, with an early holiday release on December 25 also likely.
This move mirrors the release strategy of the first Pushpa film, which debuted on December 17, 2021, becoming the biggest hit of the year and extending its success into the Sankranti holidays of 2022. The shift to a Christmas release allows for a break after the mega event film Kalki 2898 AD in late June and avoids a clash with Jr NTR’s Devara, which releases on September 27, 2024.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan’s Sitare Zameen Par, a sequel to the 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, is also set for a Christmas 2024 release. This sets up an intriguing box office battle between a film for children and families and a mass entertainer.
Both Pushpa and Sitare Zameen Par have Christmas releases and a history of box office success. This upcoming clash is not just a Tollywood vs. Bollywood battle but a face-off between two different cinematic experiences – a family-friendly film against a mass entertainer. With both films having performed exceptionally well in their first installments, this December showdown promises to be a thrilling spectacle for the Indian film industry.
