Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s foray into the digital world with “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” has proven to be a resounding success, as the web series emerges as the most-viewed Indian series on Netflix. Featuring an ensemble cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, the show has captivated audiences with its lavish portrayal of the red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore.

Released on May 1st, “Heeramandi” quickly climbed the ranks to become the top Indian series on Netflix in its debut week. The series has garnered praise for its opulence and grandeur, earning a spot in the Top 10 chart across 43 countries. Additionally, it has secured the second position in the Non-English TV List, trailing only behind “The Asunta Case.”

With an impressive 4.5 million views and 33 million accumulated viewership hours, “Heeramandi” showcases Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s masterful storytelling and artistic vision. The series delves into the intricacies of life in the red-light district during the Indian independence revolution, portraying the clash between courtesans and officials under the British Raj.
