Shruti Haasan, the acclaimed actor and playback singer, is currently engrossed in the shooting of her forthcoming film, Dacoit. In an exclusive interview, she shared insights about her professional journey and her special bond with her father, Kamal Haasan.
At present, Shruti Haasan is enjoying a successful phase in her career with several exciting projects lined up. She expressed her contentment with her current work, stating, “I am genuinely pleased with the work I am doing. I am in Hyderabad at the moment, shooting for Dacoit. I am about to embark on some new projects soon. This phase has been truly unique for me. I am taking more risks than I used to.”
She further added, “I am fortunate to have a long and thriving career where I can evolve and experiment. I was born into the world of Cinema, and this is something I love doing. The longer I am in the entertainment business, the happier I am as a person. I am extremely thankful for this phase.”
In addition to acting, Shruti is also renowned for her extraordinary singing talent. When asked about her musical journey, she said, “I started as a singer and musician, which was always my primary goal. Then acting and cinema entered my life. I consider myself fortunate to be able to do these two things that I love so much. There is a song coming out, and I definitely have more music on the way.”
Recently, the Salaar actress joined her father, the legendary actor Kamal Haasan, at the audio launch event of his upcoming film, Indian 2. Shruti surprised everyone by paying a heartfelt tribute to her father on stage, singing a few of Kamal Haasan’s classics.
Reflecting on the experience, she said, “It was a wonderful experience. I am so grateful that they invited me to honor my father. Music is a bond that we share, and I am always happy to share my music with him. We recently released a song, Inimel, for which he wrote the lyrics. So, to be able to pay tribute to him was truly amazing and special for me.”
On the work front, Shruti was last seen in the blockbuster hit film, Prashanth Neel’s Saalar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, alongside Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Reportedly, Shruti will be seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie alongside the legendary actor Rajinikanth. She will also be seen in Shaneil Deo’s Dacoit alongside Adivi Sesh. There are also rumors that the actress is a part of Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups, although there has been no official confirmation of this.
