Fans of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR have much to look forward to as the two stars are set to face off in the much-anticipated sequel, War 2. According to the latest updates, the Ayan Mukerji directorial will feature a thrilling one-on-one combat scene between the two powerhouse actors.
Stunt choreographer-turned-director Anl Arasu, known for his work in Tamil cinema and the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan, is tasked with coordinating this high-octane climax fight scene. In a recent interview with Vikatan, while discussing his debut directorial Phoenix starring Vijay Sethupathi’s son Surya, Arasu shared insights into his involvement in War 2. He revealed that he was approached specifically for choreographing the intense fight sequence between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
War 2 serves as the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, directed by Siddharth Anand. The original film follows the story of Kabir Dhaliwal, a top Indian RAW agent who seemingly goes rogue, and his mentee Khalid Rahmani, who is assigned to bring him in. The film culminates in a series of explosive action sequences as Khalid uncovers Kabir’s true motives.
The upcoming sequel promises to continue this narrative while integrating events from other YRF franchise spy films like Pathaan and Tiger 3. The post-credit scene in Tiger 3 featuring Hrithik’s cameo has already hinted at the exciting developments to come. For Jr NTR, War 2 marks his debut in a direct Hindi film and introduces him to the YRF spy cinematic universe.
In addition to his role as the antagonist in War 2, Jr NTR is set to star in Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva. The film, releasing on September 27, 2024, will also feature Janhvi Kapoor making her debut in Telugu cinema, alongside Saif Ali Khan as the main antagonist. The ensemble cast includes actors like Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, and more.
