Telangana Formation Day: MM Keeravani and Ande Sri Revamp “Jaya Jaya He Telangana”

The Telangana government enlists Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani and poet Ande Sri to revamp the state anthem “Jaya Jaya He Telangana” for the 10th Telangana Formation Day.

The Telangana government has announced a special collaboration for the 10th Telangana Formation Day on June 2, 2024, featuring a revamped version of the state anthem “Jaya Jaya He Telangana.” Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani and renowned poet Ande Sri have been enlisted to give the anthem a fresh and evocative new sound.

MM Keeravani, a celebrated music director known for his impressive body of work, has completed the composition of the new anthem. The poignant lyrics, crafted by acclaimed Telangana poet Ande Sri, aim to capture the spirit and resilience of the people of Telangana. This project was initiated by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who recently met with Keeravani and other officials, including Advisor Vem Narender Reddy and Congress Committee General Secretary Addaki Dayakar, to discuss the details of the collaboration.

The revamped anthem, “Jaya Jaya He Telangana,” is a 90-second composition that celebrates the rich culture of Telangana, honors the sacrifices of its martyrs, and highlights key aspects of the state’s history and identity. This anthem is not just a musical piece but a tribute to the indomitable spirit of the Telangana people.

In a significant gesture, CM Revanth Reddy plans to have the anthem unveiled by AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi during the grand celebrations of Telangana’s 10th Formation Day. This event will recognize Sonia Gandhi’s pivotal role in the formation of the state. However, with the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections still in force, the state government will seek permission from the Election Commission of India for the public event.

The Telangana government’s decision to celebrate this milestone on a grand scale underscores its commitment to honoring the state’s heritage and the contributions of its leaders and citizens. The anthem “Jaya Jaya He Telangana” is poised to become a symbol of pride and unity for the people of Telangana.
